Need Help❓

In this section, we answer the most common questions about joining, volunteering, collaborating, and participating in Popcorn Club Aruba.

What makes Popcorn Club Aruba different?

Popcorn Club Aruba combines arts, leadership development, and non-formal education in a structured and disciplined environment. Since 1989, we have empowered young people to grow in confidence, responsibility, creativity, and teamwork.

We do not simply teach dance or performance — we build leaders who strive for a better future.

Who can join Popcorn Club?

Popcorn Club is open to motivated young people who are ready to grow, commit, and contribute positively to the group.

We welcome youth participants (Popcorn Soldiers), local volunteers, and international volunteers through the European Solidarity Corps.

Participation in major programs like Dream, Dare, Do (DDD) is free of charge for youth.

What is Dream, Dare, Do (DDD)?

Dream, Dare, Do (DDD) is our flagship three-week international youth development program held every July.

Together with European Solidarity Corps volunteers, we offer workshops in dance, theatre, music, leadership, documentation, and personal development — all through non-formal education methods.

DDD focuses on confidence building, teamwork, communication, and discovering one’s potential.

How can I collaborate or partner with Popcorn Club?

We collaborate with schools, cultural institutions, sponsors, government departments, and international partners.

If you are interested in partnerships, sponsorships, cultural collaborations, or European projects, we welcome the opportunity to explore meaningful cooperation.

Is Popcorn Club officially recognised?

Yes. Popcorn Club Aruba operates under Stichting Popcorn and has over 36 years of experience in youth development.

We actively participate in European Solidarity Corps projects and follow structured guidelines for mentoring, safeguarding, and reporting in line with European standards.

How do you ensure safety and supervision?

We maintain clear safeguarding procedures, defined supervision structures, and designated support persons.

International volunteers are supported by both an internal supervisor and an independent external mentor.

Youth participants are guided by trained team leaders in a structured environment focused on discipline, respect, and personal growth.

When and where do you train?

Popcorn Club Aruba is based at Centro di Bario y Deporte Dakota (CBDD) in Aruba, where we conduct rehearsals, leadership sessions, and program activities.

Training schedules vary depending on the program, age group, and performance calendar. Regular rehearsals typically take place during afternoons or evenings, while major programs such as Dream, Dare, Do (DDD) follow a structured multi-week schedule.

Exact training times are shared directly with registered participants to ensure clarity and organisation.

What is the age to join Popcorn Club?

Popcorn Club welcomes motivated youth from different age groups, depending on the program and activity.

Generally:

  • Youth programs begin from early teenage years

  • Leadership and advanced participation opportunities are available for older teens and young adults

  • International volunteering through the European Solidarity Corps is open to young people aged 18–30

We focus less on age alone and more on commitment, discipline, and readiness to grow.

If you are unsure whether you or your child qualify, we encourage you to contact us directly for guidance.
