The White Party is Popcorn Club Aruba’s most symbolic annual celebration — an evening where generations of Popcorn Soldiers gather dressed in white to honor legacy, leadership, and the future.
The night begins with the impressive arrival of the Popcorn Soldiers. One by one, they enter in elegance, setting the tone for a celebration built on pride and excellence. Before the formal program begins, guests capture memories at the Picture Corner, where creative gadgets and props add joy and personality to every photograph.
The evening then transitions into Praise — a moment of reflection, gratitude, and spiritual grounding. It is a pause to recognize the journey, the challenges, and the growth that shaped the year.
Following Praise, guests take their seats at beautifully arranged dinner tables. At each chair awaits a white helium balloon, nature-friendly and symbolizing hope and renewal. As waiters serve drinks and welcome guests, Popcorn Soldiers write their personal wishes on their balloons — dreams for the coming year, intentions for growth, and aspirations for the future.
A short speech marks the official opening of the dinner. As the meal begins, the atmosphere is enriched by background music recorded by Popcorn Soldiers throughout the years — a tribute to the voices and talents that built our history. At times, singers move from table to table with guitar in hand, creating intimate musical moments during dinner.
After dinner, the celebration continues with live performances. These may feature invited artists or Popcorn Soldiers who request to take the stage, sharing their talent in a spirit of excellence and appreciation.
A central highlight of the evening is the Popcorn Soldiers Award, where recognitions are presented to individuals who exemplify discipline, leadership, commitment, and character. These awards honor those who truly embody the motto: Striving for a Better Future.
The formal program then transitions into celebration. A DJ leads the Ball, filling the room with energy and unity. During milestone (lustrum) years, live bands elevate the celebration even further, turning the night into a powerful festival of gratitude and joy.
Forty-five minutes before the evening concludes, the mood shifts to one of symbolism and connection during the Strings Game. This powerful ritual reminds everyone that although each person follows their own path, we remain interconnected — bound together by shared experiences and values.
Finally, all guests take their balloons and move outside as a united group. At that moment, the sound of Dande fills the air — a cherished Aruban tradition of music, blessings, and well-wishes for the new year. Together, we count the successful years of Popcorn Club, honoring each milestone. When we reach the current year, the balloons are released into the night sky — carrying our wishes, dreams, and gratitude forward.
